IT Security Tzar Eugene Kaspersky Gives a Lecture at UGM Underscores the Importance of a Cooperation to Keep the Internet Safe for Everyone |

Yogyakarta, 8 October 2009: Eugene Kaspersky, CEO & Co-Founder of the world renowned security software Kaspersky Lab gives a lecture titled “Taking Responsibility for The Internet” in front of 600 students outlining reasons for e-crime, formulating and designing a safe e-world, and internet government. The IT Security Tzar, strongly believes that only through education, our global society will continue to progress. He will share Kaspersky Lab’s experience and knowledge and how Kaspersky Academy actively playing its roles to support the education, development in science and innovating research in information systems for all. This is proven throughout the recently introduced Kaspersky Lab International Student Conference on Cybercrime, “IT Security for the Next Generation” in Indonesia.
This followed by a donation of various Kaspersky products to Gajahmada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The lecture is part of his programs in his four-day visit to Indonesia before he flies to the other Southeast Asian countries. This is the first time ever a CEO & Co-Founder of a leading Internet security company comes to one of Indonesia’s top five universities to share his security technology prowess with students from both UGM and other universities in Yogyakarta. The products donated to the university consists of Kaspersky Total Space Security (KTSS), which is the company’s highest range of Protection, which will include Desktop, Server, Mail Server and Gateway. The total number of devices is more than 8000 making up total donation to UGM is worth more than US$300,000. “Today, it is no longer possible for students to advance their study without the help of IT and the Internet. Our donation is aimed at making the IT environment safe for the students, lecturers and administrative staff of this highly prestigious university,” comments Eugene Kaspersky. Eugene Kaspersky, graduated from Institute of Cryptography, Telecommunications and Computer Science is the world’s leading antivirus expert with 15 years of experience in information security. In 2007, he was appointed as one of the ten IMPACT Advisory Board (www.impact-alliance.org) members. Eugene Kaspersky has been conferred State Prize of the Russian Federation for Science and Technology on 12 June in the Kremlin from President Dmitry Medvedev outstanding work, discoveries and achievements that enrich both Russian and world science and make significant contributions to the advancement of science and technology. Recently, he receives National Friendship Award of China of which the official award ceremony took place on 29 September in Beijing for his outstanding contribution to the information security industry.
