Kaspersky Lab Launches K-Klub, the First Ever Virtual Club for Internet Security and Anti-Virus Fans Calling All Malaysian Fans to Sign Up Today!

Kuala Lumpur, 16 October 2009: Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management systems, today announced its official launch of Kaspersky Friends and Fan Klub (K-Klub), an integrated online community where Kaspersky fans can share interests, exchange ideas and gain exclusive access to K-Klub perks. The site can be accessed at http://www.kklub.net/

K-Klub's official launch kicked off on October 12 with a week-long festival-themed road show modeled after the vibrant wonderland that is the virtual club's website. Throughout the week, fans and friends who signed up as a K-Klub member received gifts and prizes and participated in a variety of games at Low Yat Plaza. The road show led to a grand finale when hundreds of Kaspersky fans joined in the fun and excitement of the launch, which was officiated by Eugene Kaspersky, the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kaspersky Lab at the Main Concourse of Low Yat Plaza in Bukit Bintang.

"K-Klub is a kind of social network, experts' forum and loyalty rewards programme at the same time. K-Klub is an exciting new avenue for IT security advocates to interact with the Kaspersky Lab brand and get the latest scoops on antivirus technologies and fight against cybercrime," said Eugene Kaspersky.

“My vision is to combine all the Kaspersky Lab’s Fan Clubs in the world into one Big Fan Club, this will enable fans to communicate with each other not only within the country but all around the world. We learn a lot from our fans about their requirements. Anytime and anywhere, we hear and we are near our customers. We strive for the best products for our customers. I strongly call for the fans to participate in all our activities in forum, blogs or Kaspersky Academy program.” Add Eugene.

The virtual club is one of its kind established by a security solutions provider. K-Klub invites members of the public to start personal blogs, create groups and participate in forum to share their thoughts and spark public discussions on the latest trends in technology. Furthermore, users can exercise their creative muscles and upload IT security-related photos to the K-Klub gallery. As the K-Klub functions also as a platform for user-generated content, members can create their own comic stories as part of K-Klub's global comic story telling movement.

The K-Klub community runs on an incentive points programme whereby users can accumulate points when they attend K-Klub events or when they invite friends into K-Klub or its events. These points are redeemable for rewards and discounts on Kaspersky Lab merchandise. The highly interactive community is a uniquely designed playground where home and corporate users can enjoy exclusive K-Klub merchandise at discounted prices, birthday gifts and exclusive invitations to K-Klub events.

"One of the best perks of K-Klub, of course, is many exciting activities and events that Kaspersky Lab has in store. And Kaspersky Lab’s fans will always be the first to find out — on K-Klub. So, watch that space!" said Gun Suk Ling, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab Southeast Asia.

While K-Klub is currently only accessible in English, plans to introduce local language versions of the community is in the offing. Registered users will be accorded free, lifetime memberships.

To further commemorate the launch of K-Klub in Malaysia and to demonstrate that Kaspersky Lab's reach is as unlimited as the perks that the virtual club affords. Kaspersky Lab announced that it will protect Plaza Low Yat from cyber threats by contributing Kaspersky Total Space Security to Plaza Low Yat's management office and Kaspersky Open Space Security and Kaspersky Internet Security to all retailers in the Plaza Low Yat worth more than RM300,000.
