During the latest and last gathering for the year by the Malaysian Mac Users Group on Saturday, 19th December 2009, Mr.Mok from Antivirus365, the online eStore for Kaspersky in South East Asia gave an interesting insight to the existence of threats which are already affecting many Mac users worldwide.
In his presentation, Mr.Mok spoke about the importance of changing the mindset of Mac users who still believe that they do not face any cyber security threats. He explained the real situation of threats towards the Mac OS with the support of strong graphical evidence. The audience was fed with crucial information on the harsh reality that the Mac is no longer as safe as it used to be.
He also spoke about the company's new offering for Mac users, the Kaspersky ŽAnti-Virus for MAC before handing out gift bags filled with premium items to the attendees. The MAC product is currently being sold at a special introductory price and is available at Kaspersky's retail and online stores.
The enthusiastic crowd that attended the MyMUG's MacFest at the old wing of One Utama kept asking why international superstar Jackie Chan, the brand ambassador for the leading developer of secure content management systems could not make it to the venue.
Other highlights of the gathering included a presentation on the latest hardware from Apple - remote and Magic Mouse. The audience was finally treated to a presentation on the 360 VR Panoramas, an effective tool for virtual tours. The gathering was an absolute success and the satisfied crowd went home with lots of worthwhile information as well as bags of free gifts.
